Talk Therapy
When you get in touch, I'll send you a short clinical form before we book. It's how I work out whether I'm the right person for what you need, and if I'm not, or my books are full, I'll say so and point you toward someone better placed. You'll hear back within three working days.
The form is hosted in Jane, secure practice management software used by health practitioners across the world. Your information is stored securely and won't be shared without your consent, except where the law requires it.
I typically work with individuals aged 15+ online and in person (submit a contact form to discuss exceptions).
How we meet
In Aotearoa New Zealand: in person in Parnell or online, wherever you are in the country.
In Ontario, Canada: online only.
You’ll need to be physically in the relevant country at the time of session. If you’re travelling or relocating, let’s talk about it.
General therapy (accepting new clients)
My core training is in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and I draw on strengths-based, solution-focused, and mindfulness approaches when they’re useful. Sessions are usually 50 minutes, weekly or fortnightly to begin with, and we’ll work out together how long is right.
Eating disorder work (wait-list only)
Eating disorders have been the centre of my clinical practice since 2018, and I’m trained across the main evidence-based treatments. Because this work is safest when it’s done alongside a medical team, I’m currently taking eating disorder referrals only from a community clinician such as your GP, dietitian, psychiatrist, or another therapist already involved in your care.
That isn’t a comment on whether your situation warrants help. It’s about making sure that if things get harder, there’s already someone else in the picture rather than you having to build that support from scratch. If you’re not currently connected with anyone, a GP visit is the usual place to start, and you’re welcome to get in touch once that’s in place.
Rates
Aotearoa New Zealand:
$190+GST ($218.50 NZD) per 50 minute session.
I’m a registered provider with Gumboot Friday and Clearhead EAP, and accept WINZ funded sessions for existing clients only. I also offer a sliding scale for students - please get in touch to discuss this.
Ontario, Canada:
$160 CAD per 50 minute session (tax exempt).
Many extended health plans in Ontario cover therapy provided by a Registered Social Worker, and I’ll give you a receipt to claim back. I don’t offer direct billing, so you’ll pay up front and claim from your insurer yourself. Worth checking your plan before we start, since coverage varies and some policies cover psychologists but not social workers.
If you’re not sure what you’re eligible for, just ask. It’s a normal question, and I’d rather sort it out at the start than have cost be the reason you don’t begin.
